Biography
Younis Dhaher is an Iraqi-born, Chicago-based comedian, storyteller, artist, and writer. Born in Baghdad and raised in the Midwest, he builds autobiographical work from immigrant memory, family, grief, ambition, faith, and pressure. He performs stand-up in Arabic and English, has appeared at Netflix Is A Joke Festival, and has featured for 21 Savage, Russell Peters, Maz Jobrani, and Ahmed AlBasheer. He was the first Iraqi-American to perform stand-up comedy in Jordan’s history at the Cultural Palace. Alongside comedy, he writes for television and film and releases music as YOUNIS.
