Younis Dhaher is an Iraqi-born, Chicago-based comedian, storyteller, artist, and writer. Born in Baghdad and raised in the Midwest, he builds autobiographical work from immigrant memory, family, grief, ambition, faith, and pressure. He performs stand-up in Arabic and English, has appeared at Netflix Is A Joke Festival, and has featured for 21 Savage, Russell Peters, Maz Jobrani, and Ahmed AlBasheer. He was the first Iraqi-American to perform stand-up comedy in Jordan’s history at the Cultural Palace. Alongside comedy, he writes for television and film and releases music as YOUNIS, including DRAWING BLANKS and ’92 Barcelona, from the same lived center.
