Younis Dhaher is an Iraqi-born, Chicago-based comedian, storyteller, artist, and writer. Born in Baghdad and raised in the Midwest, he builds from immigrant memory, family, grief, ambition, faith, pressure, and the need to make a room feel real.
He performs stand-up in Arabic and English, writes for TV and film, releases music as YOUNIS, and makes visual work for YouTube. Comedy is not separate from the music. The journal is not separate from the stage. They are all doors into the same autobiographical world.
